Private Beach

THE indian ocean

Our Beach

Accessible at low tide

Situated on the Indian Ocean, the views of the barrier reef offer a paradise retreat for guests seeking a secluded place. Private steps from the hotel lead directly to a small coral and natural sandy beach – only accessible at low tide. Exploration of the rocky overhang and wading in the coral pools reveal sea life in abundance.

Walking south, about 300m, towards the lighthouse, there is a stretch of palm-fringed, white sand unspoilt beach of almost 3km. Swimming is possible here at low or high tide. You may see local fishermen preparing to set sail for, or return from, their fishing trips. Here, villagers dig in the sand for clams, collect sea weed, catch fish, prepare octopus, and children play with their home-built boats, co-existing with the wildlife such as crabs, exotic birds, sea urchins and others.

We have a schedule for a return beach shuttle (there is no charge but should be arranged with our staff) to our neighbouring beach in Jambiani, 10 minutes drive away.
